Industrial-, data center- and even some comfort applications require year-round cooling supply.
Over the years, Swegon Operations Srl has acquired a considerable expertise in manufacturing free-cooling chillers, which exploit low outdoor temperatures, thus supplying chilled water without using compressors.
Our catalogue boasts free-cooling models ranging from 40 up to 1,200 kW capacity.
As Swegon Operations free-cooling chillers make use of advanced proprietary software, they achieve the benefits of free-cooling even in mild seasons, complementing the energy obtained by the free-cooling section with the partial-load operation of the compressors’ section.
Such hybrid operation mode considerably increases the energy saving, guaranteeing a drastically quick payback of the investment.
This feature is emphasized by the possibility to integrate multiple units into the same system, with optimized operation – and energy savings – via built-in control resources.

The range comprises models with specific characteristics:

-patented air-flow regulation by dampers
-modular units with sections for chiller (compressors) and free-cooling

The modular design allows to have separate fans and coils for each section, to ensure that the required capacity is fulfilled with the optimum level of partial- or full free-cooling at minimized power consumption.
Moreover, the free-cooling modules can be selected from three different sizes (Basic, Custom, Extra), with step-wise levels of capacity supplied by them, therefore at different levels of total free-cooling temperature.
This allows to fit the models in various climate profiles and applications.
According to the model, it is also possible to choose the efficiency version, granting outstanding benefits even from the chiller-only operation mode.
